The tutorial is written in PsP 9...and
is written for the advanced PsP user
Needed:
* A beautiful tube. The best result is created with a
tube that has straight edges left and right
My tube is added in the zip file - put it in a folder of your
choice
Put the
filters in your plug-in folder

- Effeto Fantasma
* Fonts: An Unfortunate Event and ABC Schrift Drei EF
* A nice gradient - Mine is in the zip, you place it
your PsP 9 Gradients folder
* My selections - place these in your PsP 9 Selection
folder
* A vertical picture with flowers - The one I used is
in the zip and you can put it in any folder
*

Now that you have
everything...let's get started.....
1.
Open a new transparent
image of 500 x 350 pixels.
2. Flood fill your image with MAS-Pride gradient or
your own gradient of choice with the following
settings
and make sure your gradient is set on linear

3. Go to Effects – Plug-in – Fantastic Machines
(Paint Engine) and use the following settings:

Go to your tube –
Image – Change Format and make it 350 pixels in height
(as screen)

5.
Adjust – Sharpness –
Unsharp mask (as screen)

6.
Edit – Copy
7. Edit – Paste as new layer on your image rename the
layer tube
8. Layers- New Raster Layer
9. Selections – Load from disc –
MAS-PrideTutorialLinks and fill this with your
gradient, same settings as before

10. With your selection still intact Effects –
Texture effects – Blinds with the following settings

Use a light
color, I am using
#9eb5d5 and leave your selection still
intact.
11. Selections –
Modify - Contract on 2 – Invert – Floating and fill
with a dark color, I am using #233253.
12. Selection still intact go to 3D Effects –
Inner Bevel – Frame (should be standard in PsP 9),
but if you don't have it here are the settings.

Selections – Select nothing
14. Effects –
Plugging – Italian Editors Effect – Effeto Fantasma
with the following settings:

The
tube is still underneath but not to worry....It will
all work out just fine...:)
15. Layers
- New Raster Layer
16. Selections – Load from disc – MAS-PrideTutorialRechts
17. Reverse your gradient (as screen) and fill your
selection with it.

18.
Effects – Texture
effects – Blinds with the same settings as in step 10
only
use a dark color this time
I am using #233253.
19. Selections –
Modify - Contract on 2 – Invert – Floating and fill
with a dark color, I am using #233253.
20.
Selections - Select nothing
21. Effects –
Filters – Italian Editors Effects – Effeto Fantasma
with the same settings as step 14. You should now have
this.

22. Go to your tube layer and then Layers – Arrange –
Bring to Top and move your tube against the edge
(see example)

23. With your tube layer active go to Effects – 3D
Effects – Drop shadow with the following settings:

ATTENTION:
Drop shadow on new layer is checked.
25. Make your tube layer active again and repeat the
drop shadow again, but now with horizontal and
vertical on –2.
As
you can see, the drop shadow gets over the squares left
and right…I don't think it looks so good with
my tube, so I thought of the next and it depends on
what kind of tube you are using if you will do the
next 2 steps.
26. Go to you selection tool with the following
settings

27. Make your Shadow layer 1 active and create a
selection like the screen below and hit delete on your
keyboard
and repeat this on your Shadow layer 2.

28. Merge your tube layer and shadow layers visible.
29. Now get
your flower graphic and go to Edit - Copy
30. Edit – Paste as new layer on your tag and move the
graphic to the left (see example)
now put the blend mode on this layer to Luminance
(legacy) and the opacity to 30

31.
Go to Layers - Arrange -
Move down and repeat this until the graphic is the
2nd layer on the bottom (see example)

32. Make your top layer active and go to Layers - New
Raster Layer
33. Selections - Load from disc - MAS-PrideTutorialLinks1
and fill this selection with your dark color.
34. Selections - Select nothing
35. Put
the blend mode on this layer to Luminance (legacy) and
the opacity to 35 and go to
Layers - Merge - Merge all (flatten)
36. Take your text tool and lock your foreground
color and put your background color on your light
color and then
find the font ABC Schrift Drei EF and use the
following settings


37. Type your poem or text and
move it to the left (see example) and convert the
vector layer to a raster layer
when you are completely happy with the way your text
looks.

38. Effects - 3D Effects - Drop shadow with the
following setting and use your dark color

39. Image - Rotate - Rotate
Clockwise 90, I am doing this so the text will stay
clear and sharp.
40. Go to your text tool and find the font An
Unfortunate Event and use the same settings as with
the poem, but
adjust the font size and convert the vector layer
to raster layer when you are satisfied with the text.
41. Effects - 3D effects - Drop shadow with the same
settings as step 38.
42. Image - Rotate - Rotate Counter Clockwise 90
43. Layers - Merge - Merge all (flatten)
44. Image - Add Borders on 2 pixels and use the green
color as in the example

45. Take your magic wand, feather
and tolerance set to 0, and select your green border
and fill with your dark color
and leave your
selection
intact and go to
Effects - 3D Effects - Inner Bevel
and use the Frame preset again as in step12.
46. Selections - Select nothing
47. Image - Add Borders 10 pixels and use your light
color select the border again with your magic wand
and
go to Effects - Plug-in - Filters Unlimited 2.0 - Paper Textures - Papyrus
and use these settings:

48. Selections - Select nothing
49. Image - Add Borders on 2 pixels and just use your
dark color now
50. Select the border again with your magic wand and go
to Effects - 3D Effects - Inner bevel - Frame as
before
51. Selections - Select nothing
And now.....you are
finished....Resize your tag to your liking and
sharpen...then save as .jpg
